9.22 marks the day I was born twenty something years ago. Yesterday was defnitely one of my more memorable birthdays that I've had in recent memory. I purposely didn't plan anything for the day but had options, which works to anyones advantage. Started my day by picking up the paper from the closest bodega and decided to check out a cafe on Broadway that I've been meaning to go to for a while. Figure it's my birthday, why not venture? I walked in and to my surprise, the place looked way better than I would have ever imagined. Certainly found a new local spot where I'll be a regular. I stayed in there for a little while eating, reading, drinking coffee, & returning calls and text messages from estranged friends & family. Fun times!

Later on in the day I attended a comedy show that my friend told me about. It was a good time. A small venue filled young comedians networking. At the end of the show they had a contest for non-comics to go up and do a small impromptu set for a cash prize. I did something a little out of character for me, I joined in and captured the crowd for about a minute. I won 10 bucks because everyone knew it was my birthday. My friend told the host to shout me out and the entire place sang the famous birthday tune we are all too familiar with. After the show we hung around the venue for a little while cracking jokes and all the other things us young adults do.

To conclude the brilliant day, I took the party back to the Harlem apartment where pizza, drinks, music, dancing, jokes, & hanging on the stoop with friends all took place. It was certainly a night to remember. It was also well documented with photos & videos that of course I will share with you all.
